REVEALED: How Echocho squandered Afribank resources on Kogi Guber Ambition

Anytime the name Jibrin Isah aka Echocho is mentioned, most people recall that he is serial contender in the Kogi gubernatorial contest. Very few people however remember that he was one of the Executive directors in the defunct Afribank.
As Executive director in charge of treasury and operations, Jibrin Isah Echocho was alleged to be one of the masterminds behind most of the atrocities that brought down Afribank leading to the loss of its shareholders investments.
During his heydays, Echocho was the toast of politicians of Igala extraction because of the reckless way he dished out money, doled out cars, sponsored people on pilgrimage and the likes.

A PDP stalwart, Alhaji Hassan Usman said, "In those days, all it took for a young beautiful girl to make it was to make a trip to Lagos to see Echocho.” He added, “our youth were ecstatic about the way Echocho and his cohorts used to come to town and distribute money at beer parlours.”

Drug trafficking carrier pigeon detained in Costa Rica

A homing pigeon was intercepted by police at a prison near San Jose, Costa Rica, after it was seen by a guard landing in the jail’s courtyard with a bag tied to its body.
On inspection, the black zipper bag was found to contain 14g of cocaine and the same amount of marijuana.
Authorities suspect the bird was looked after and fed by an inmate in the medium-security wing of La Reforma prison, Costa Rica’s biggest penitentiary, before someone smuggled it out of the prison only to load it with illicit cargo ahead of its return route.
The director of Costa Rica’s prison police force told the media after the ruse had been exposed last Tuesday that the pigeon was able to fly perfectly well despite the drug-stuffed pouch strapped against its breast.

Pablo Bertozzi, who said he had seen cases of cats being used to transport drugs strapped to their tails, added that the homing pigeon incident would lead to a redoubling of efforts to clean the jail of controlled substances.

Senate President: Buhari Meets APC Leaders, Dump Saraki

President Muhammad Buhari has finally come out to declare his preference for Senator Ahmed Lawan as the new Senate President, according to sources who attended a meeting between the president and members of the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

SR sources said President Buhari disclosed his preference during a critical meeting late last night with the NWC members at Aso Rock.
“The president explained to us that the North Central part of Nigeria has held the Senate Presidency for long enough. He therefore disclosed that the post should be allowed to move to another geo-political zone,”
one source at the meeting told Sahara Reporters.

In pushing for Senator Lawan as the next Senate President, Buhari reportedly stated that, since the North East zone gave the party the second largest number of votes in Nigeria’s recent general elections, the zone should be allowed to produce the premier position at the upper legislative chamber.
